Book Review: Rules of a Rebound

When recently divorced Natalie Winters attends the private Breakup Bash party to celebrate her freedom, the driven advertising exec doesn’t expect a hookup. But a Do Me condom escaping her purse and the ensuing sexy banter with bartender Rome Collier change things. The elite security specialist is the only drink she wants. And right now. But can a spur of the moment quickie actually become more? And should it? Especially when she’s on the rebound and needs to focus on her career. Ain’t even gonna lie. I was a sucker for the excerpt reveal. The moment Natalie and Rome locked…

Book Review: Demetrius and Alexis

While I am definitely into hot and steamy romances, I also enjoy a sweet romance every once in a while. Demetrius and Alexis fits the bill for a few reasons. Exotic locale —  Greece is the first European country I ever visited, so I love novels set there. Feisty Heroine — Alexis doesn’t just wallow when her fiancé cheats on her. She embarks on a whole new life. Perfect Hero — Demetrius is sexy and commanding, yet sensitive and caring. Villains Galore — the story boasts not just one, but three villains, which equals hella drama and challenges to the couple’s romance.…

Book Review: With a Kiss, I Die

When news reporter Ben Strickland hears of a mysterious Black woman with blue hair whose mere touch kills, he travels to the Caribbean island of Oyster Key to find her. Though I had never read the work of K. Alex Walker, the book blurb intrigued me. It sat on my Kindle for months before I opened, but once I did, I was floored. Now, y’all know I try to write, but K. Book Review: Demetrius and Alexis

After coming home to find her fiancé kicking boots other than hers, Alexis accepts a teaching position in Greece, where she meets her charge’s ultra-handsome, fabulously wealthy uncle. But falling for Demetrius would be totally inappropriate, wouldn’t it? While I am definitely into hot and steamy romances, I also enjoy a sweet romance every once in a while. Demetrius and Alexis fits the bill for a few reasons. Exotic locale —  Greece is the first European country I ever visited, so I love novels set there. Heroine — Alexis is feisty. The Maid’s Daughter

I one-clicked this book on a hummer, meaning a hunch knowing nada about it, including this was Ms. Knight’s debut novel. Yet, I am so happy to have found her at the beginning of what will surely be a stellar career. There is so much to love about this book: Character Relationship – most romance love interests are joined at the hip, which readers have come to expect and want. Still, the separation of Naomi and William for much of the story was a welcome change that heightened and surprisingly charged the romance for me. The suspense of when they…
